Animal Encounters
Connect with our ambassador animals and zookeepers during up close and personal animal encounters!

What to know before you book:
  • Check-in must be made at the Tours and Encounters Booth.
  • Depending on animal health requirements, guests ages two and older may be required to wear a CDC recommended face covering or they will not be allowed to participate. If needed, the face covering will be provided by Zoo Miami during the encounter.
  • Closed-toe shoes are required.
  • Service animals are not permitted.
  • Touching of the animals is not permitted unless advised by Zoo Miami staff.
  • Children five years old and under must be carried or held by the hand of an adult in their group.
Restrictions: One paying participant must be at least 18 years old per group.

In order to prepare for our night event on June 22 the zoo will be closing at 4 p.m.  (last ticket sold at 3p.m.) All activities will also be closing early or have modified times.
Black Bear Encounter

Walk among giants as you explore the Galapagos tortoise habitat. During your encounter, you will get up-close and personal while learning all about our tortoises, their habitat, and the conservation efforts to protect them. As they walk in slow-motion, you will have plenty of Time to take the perfect photo!

Only available on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturdays and Sundays at 11:30 a.m. - Depending on the temperature some Tortoise Encounters may be cancelled.

$25 (tax included) per person; Ages 3 and older, 2 and under are free.  Zoo admission is not included with this ticket.
