The largest experience on land that only a select few ever get to do! During this journey, you'll have the unique opportunity to meet with our dedicated Animal Care Specialists, who will provide unparalleled insight into the inner workings of our African Elephants. Discover the day-to-day care of these magnificent creatures and the conservation efforts that are the backbone of our mission to preserve wild populations.

Travel to African Elephants, which is authorized for access only, and be part of the experience as you see a voluntary husbandry training session up close and learn how all this plays a crucial role in creating an environment where elephants can thrive at Zoo Miami.

Starting January 20th the tour will start at 11:00 a.m.

Small, yet mighty, come visit our pygmy hippos. When behind-the-scenes, you’ll have the opportunity to meet this unique species from the keepers that take care of them and find out what makes a hippopotamus hip!

Walk among giants as you explore the Galapagos tortoise habitat. During your experience, you will get up-close and personal while learning all about our tortoises, their habitat, and the conservation efforts to protect them. As they walk in slow-motion, you will have plenty of Time to take the perfect photo!

Available Daily at 12 p.m. - Depending on the temperature some Tortoise Encounters may be cancelled.
