Zoo Miami Foundation

Throughout his more than 40 year tenure at Zoo Miami, Ron has personally raised millions of dollars in support of conservation and the establishment of the Ron Magill Conservation Endowment Fund.

Since its establishment in 2015, the endowment has provided tens of thousands of dollars annually to wildlife conservation projects in Africa, Asia, Central and South America as well as right here in South Florida. These projects focus on protecting a wide variety of animals ranging from hummingbirds to elephants. From providing radio collars to track jaguars in Brazil to purchasing a Sport Utility vehicle to study cheetahs in Kenya, the endowment helps to provide the tools necessary for some of our world's most dedicated conservationists to gather the knowledge that is so important to help protect these endangered species for future generations.

In addition, the endowment provides thousands of dollars annually in scholarships and awards to help students who have demonstrated a commitment to pursuing a career in wildlife conservation.

One of Ron's favorite sayings is, "We have not inherited this earth from our parents, we are borrowing it from our children." He created this endowment to help ensure that our children will have the opportunity to experience the same natural wonders that have inspired him all of his life.
